Valentines Day and More

Two weeks ago I had absolutely no time for anything! I didn't go running during the week at all. It was parent teacher conferences, and my partner teacher decided that she needed to get appendicitis resulting in her getting her appendix taken out and miss that whole week of school/conferences. So I put my super cape on and did 50+ PTC's on my own with about 2/3 of the data to show parents. I went to school at around 7 each morning and most nights I didn't get home until 7:30. It was a great week and I learned a lot. One big thing I learned is that I am getting better at handling stress. It effects Cody a lot when I get stressed, so I have been trying to channel it and remember that everything will work out.

Going on to this week, this week has been almost as busy as last, but filled with a lot more FUN! Since Monday I was planning what I was going to do on Valentines Day for Cody, so I was running a few errands and we both ended up getting home around 8. On Tuesday we got haircuts and didn't get home until after 8 as well. Wednesday we went to Grandma's house for dinner in celebration for Heathers birthday. Then came home and Cody did some work while I started putting my students Valentine treats together. Thursday we came home a bit earlier maybe around 6, relaxed a little, then I finished putting the valentines together. Friday was valentines day.

A few weeks before Christmas Cody started telling me about this smartwatch called the Pebble. I wanted to get it as a Christmas gift, but I didn't want to be hasty, so I waited and decided to do it for Valentines Day. One thing to know about Cody is he absolutely LOVES technology. I was going to get it at BestBuy but they had been out of them for the past 2 weeks, so I ended up using Amazon Prime. I did it through my mother's account so that he wouldn't see the transaction and shipped it to Grandma Janis' house. It was kind of funny because it ended up arriving on Wednesday, which is when we went there for dinner. Grandma did an awesome job of keeping it on the down low. I told her I would come pick it up on my way home from work the next day. As we were leaving dinner she said "Yeah so just give me a call.... just give me a call sometime :)". He had no idea. Here are a few pictures from dinner.

This is the famous sponge cake that all the Janis children grew up with!

Happy Birthday Heather!

Shoot, I'm all over the place. I have to backtrack real quick! On Monday I went running and the craziest thing happened! I witnessed a motorcycle accident about 30 feet in front of my face! Here is a little video.

In class I have been doing coloring contests for when they finish assignments early. Here are the winners from the Red Class. I didn't get a picture of the Blue Class winners unfortunately.

And here are a few pictures from Valentines day at school along with the valentines I gave the students!

Ok, this has been really long so I am going to finish up with a few pictures from Friday night!

Besides my wedding ring, I haven't ever owned real jewelry until now. I'm so grateful and blessed to have an amazing husband and best friend. I can't believe how blessed I am to be married to Cody.

  1. How did I miss this post? Too many things to comment about. Love the picture of Grandma and that is cute how she 'kept' the surprise haha. Your students are amazing at coloring! Wow! I can't even color that good. Those cookies look perfect! Can't wait to make them. Maybe I can convince Eden to have those cookies instead of cupcakes for her bday? Now I want cookies and muddy buddies. Sheesh, never reading your blog again ;). How did you do the cool rotating picture of Cody eating and drinking? I've been wanting to figure that out. You'll have to teach me! The necklace Cody got you is beautiful!
