My big 6 Month Old Girl!

Man, it's been a while. I never knew six months could feel so long, yet fly by like my baby girl was born yesterday. Since Teya was born we have successfully moved 3 times. Teya has been a champ at getting used to things over and over again. Finally for the past month and a half we have had more stability and she's doing even better!

When I last wrote, things were still a little hard with her. I was loving it, but I was still learning so much. I am still learning a lot, but once Teya hit about 2 months she started mellowing out quite a bit. She is such an easy going happy happy little girl.

Here are a few pictures! (ok, maybe more than a few)

I feel like I could take pictures of her all day, but that would be silly because then I would forget to just enjoy moments. It's so hard because when i'm in a moment, I want to keep it forever so I try to take pictures or vidoes, but they still never do it justice. Plus i'm going to run out of storage if I take too many haha. I just love this little girl so much.

I thought i'd take a minute to write down Teya's developments right now.

Teya rolls and scoots everywhere. She can scoot over 5 feet in one setting if she's in the mood.

She grabs everything! She's getting really good at her aim and bringing objects in close to her. A few weeks ago she accidentally pushed them away all the time.

Teya is VERY VERY ticklish. She is ticklish under her arms and down her side, her sternum, the back of her neck, her feet, and her thighs. It's not hard to find a tickle spot. Her laughs are the best. They just melt my heart.

Teya is SUPER happy when she wakes up from sleeping. Usually I let her wake up slow and she just talks to herself for a few minutes then when she hears the door open and Cody or I come up to her she gets the biggest grins. It's the best feeling.

Teya loves her vegetables and fruits. She eats bananas, apples, carrots, peas, rice and oatmeal. We are going to start some new veggies this week!

It's been a great six months and we are so excited for our future ahead!

Family Photoshoot

My beautiful sister took pictures for us a few weeks ago... we finally got around to editing them and posting them. Thank you Kylee! You are amazing :)

These are classic Teya expressions!

I cannot believe how much I can get done in two hours when Teya will actually sleep for that long! I did a load of laundry, finished editing/publishing/uploading a video for my nieces birthday, made dinner, and now I'm actually writing something on my blog?!

Last night was a nightmare though. She was up at least every hour and each time I put her back in her bed she woke up spitting up. I must have been too tired to burp her properly. She really didn't nap well this morning... but after lunch she fell asleep and has been asleep for over two hours.

She is very unpredictable and I tried a schedule at first, but that just made everyone miserable so we are letting her lead for the time being :). These past 6 1/2 weeks have been like a very intense rollercoaster. The highs have been so amazing, and the lows have really tested me. Every day, hour, even minute is completely unpredictable with this little sweetie. I wouldn't change it for anything though.

Here are a few things about Teya at this point in her life:

  • When Teya is awake, she is wide eyed and looking at everything she possibly can.
  • If we hold her in one position for more than 30 seconds, she gets bored. We are constantly repositioning her to keep her happy :).
  • Teya makes the cutest sounds when she is falling asleep. They are a mixture of sighs, whimpers, and grunts. I have yet to get a really good video of it though.
  • She is very VERY active and strong. When she's awake she is constantly moving (unless she's just waking up or falling asleep). She could lift her head up from day 1 and was a champ at tummy time as well. During tummy time her arms and legs don't stop!
  • She is fascinated by different sounds. She will be moving her arms and legs around like crazy then we when we make a weird sound or jingle bells in front of her she freezes and just stares at it for about 15 seconds. Then she gets moving again. It's really cute!
  • After Teya eats she gets into a milk coma and gets the cutest smiles! Here is an example:

Teya Aiko Monson

Finally got around to posting some pictures of Teya! We are so in love with our sweet little girl.

We are so in love with this little girl. She has changed our lives so much. I can't believe she is already two weeks old! Cody and I did a photoshoot at home with her... so here are some of my favorites. Enjoy!

This is our Teya when she is either hungry, or just wants to suckle.

Ok, so I had to add this one in here! Hah I just love it. This really is typical Teya right now. She is constantly on the move. We did get some good pictures, but the majority of them were kinda like this, stiff arms and legs. It was pretty hard to position her, even when she was asleep. We think she is going to be an early crawler. She has had a pretty strong neck from day 1 and is already moving around like crazy during tummy time. I have videos and stuff but that will have to wait. I've been meaning to do this post for 5 days... but I guess that's kind of just the life of a mother right?

Baby Shower

Yesterday night my AMAZING, sweet, talented, creative, cute, loving, smiley, redhead, (could go on for hours) sister Kylee and an amazing friend I met just a week ago Abby, threw a baby shower for Teya and I! It was better than I could have even imagined.

I kind of figured that I wouldn't be having a baby shower because we just moved here and we hadn't really met anyone. But last week I went to Zumba at the church and that's how I met Abby. I would have met her anyway because she's good friends with Kylee, and well everyone. She really is such a nice and outgoing person. I am working on developing my "outgoing" skills :). Anyway, so I met her on Thursday and she called me up later that day and was like "can we throw you a baby shower?"

So they threw us a shower and it was seriously amazing. We had a heart theme because Teya is going to be born around Valentines day and they just invited a bunch of people from the ward.

I just feel so grateful for everyone who came and supported me even though we just got here and they don't even know us. It really made me feel very loved. Kylee and Abby put a lot of time into making it so fun and special. Below are some pictures. I wish I had my nice camera to capture more of the details, they seriously went all out. At least to my eyes they did. Anyway, my heart is just so full of gratitude.

This is a fun game we played! I think everyone was talking so much that we kind of forgot to steal necklaces, but it was still really fun :)

They made me take one by myself... but isn't that table just decked out?

So, Kylee made my (and Cody's) favorite sugar cookies! And bless her heart, they turned out to be a bigger project than expected because the dough was REALLY sticky, but seriously they turned out perfect! And you can't see from the picture, but the cucumbers and peppers are even stamped out in cute little heart shapes. I'm still amazed :)

Look at al of those gifts! Wow!

This gift is a particularly special one. It is a JuJuBe Backpack/Diaper bag. It's quite expensive, but really good quality and will hopefully last throughout my kids. I want to get one for Kylee for her next baby!

I spent this whole morning getting everything set up so that I could take a picture of the many nice things we were given. Aren't the pictures cute? Kylee did that as well. She's amazing. I zoomed in on this picture because that little sailor outfit isn't actually a gift I got from the shower or anything, but it is an outfit that I wore when I was a baby. My mom saved it for me so I just had to throw it in there!

The details of the decorations.

Lots of adorable clothes.

And here we have it... Teya's little space in our room. Now the clothes and everything are packed into the boxes and we may need to do some rearranging of furniture, but that can wait for a later date!

Just about 2 more weeks and then hopefully Teya will be here! We think she will be late because my mom and sisters are always late... but I'm really hoping and praying that she will come sooner rather than later... or at least on time :)
